In an ever growing music industry, Asmidar stands outs like a diamond in the rough. A small pint size lady hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Asmidar began her singing journey at a tender age of 8 by performing her first TV appearance on RTM during Konsert Perdana which was attended by then Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad. Asmidar became the youngest singer to record a song with the RTM Orchestra. Apart from that she has taken part in many national talent shows in which she had won a number of times.
At the age of 15, she became the 1st runner--‐up for the Bintang RTM singing competition in which she was the youngest contestant at that time. Asmidar completed her studies in UiTM, by taking up a diploma in music majoring in vocal performance. Traditional Malay music has always been her main influence in which it was a stepping stone as she won the Bintang Asli Remaja comptetion ( a competition that focuses only on traditional Malay songs ) that helped her to pursue her singing career where she began to perform an major live events namely at Istana Budaya as well collaborating with the National Symphony Orchestra. Asmidar was invited by the Petronas Performing Arts Group to perform at the Philharmonic Hall in which she opened new horizons by showing off her versatility in singing by not only performing traditional songs but also contemporary number.
